Tatvik Announces AirPlay Receiver SDK for Android Devices
July 14, 2015, Bangalore, India. Tatvik Technologies, a provider of leading multimedia solutions for Mobile phones and handhelds, has started providing software AirPlay Mirror Receiver SDK on ARM and Intel based Android devices. In addition to previously supported Intel x86/x64 based Windows, Linux & MAC computers and fanless Embedded Box PCs, the SDK has been made available for licensing on Android devices.
The SDK enables non-Apple devices (Android/Embedded Linux/Windows/Linux/MAC) to receive Airplay mirroring from Apple iOS (iPhone/iPad) and OSX (iMac/MacBook/Mac mini) devices over existing WiFi and Ethernet network, without the need of an Apple TV. Using the SDK, users can mirror the screen, play the videos, share the camera and slide show the gallery of iOS/OSX devices to their applications on the receiver devices. The users do not need to install any application on Apple iOS/OSX device, and this allows instant collaboration from any Apple device. The SDK on the Android setup box or Android devices connected to large screen allows user a unique opportunity to collaborate and share seamlessly among large group of people.
The SDK can be used for different kind of applications. Some of the example use cases are:
- Education: The SDK can be used to share the content from Apple devices to the classroom. Thus, the instructor can walk around the room during demonstration. Also, the students can show their work to the whole classroom using this technology. The provision of password protection feature restricts unauthorized access.
- Home Entertainment: The SDK allows users to watch videos and songs from iTunes directly to the desktop over WiFi. The SDK supports 1080p HD video streaming to the receiver device. It also facilitates easy viewing of photos and videos on a large screen at family and friends gatherings.
- Business: The SDK allows the presenter to slide the presentation while walking around and being more interactive with the audience, instead of being near to the laptop connected to the big screen to slide through. The mobile display can also be broadcasted on video conference call or webinar through this technology.
- Car Infotainment: The SDK allows iOS device screen mirroring, audio/video playback and photo slide show to Android or Embedded Linux based Car Infotainment unit wirelessly for viewing by all occupants in the car, be it friends, family or business associates. This enables a car to act as a small presentation room, where an iOS user can take the viewers through presentation on Car Infotainment, controlling the slides from the iOS device.
The SDK has easy API for quick integration to the Applications. The customizable features allow the developers to make the solution more suitable for their use-cases.
